63 free high resolution abstract textures Vol. 1

This month we prepared 63 free abstract textures, which are mostly composed from blurred photographs with added various effects and multiple layers.A lot of them are also based on patterns with added color gradients. When i was making these textures i wasn’t concerned with what will came out in the end. I just took a bad photograph and toyed with it in Photoshop. There will be three more packs of textures with similar concept in following months. You can download them here for free, but read up on our rules to make sure how you can use them.

Hello

The vacation time has come, and so we are releasing the remainder of textures we had on standby in one go. There was an addition of 386 high resolution textures on our website Startextures.com. We will be away for approximately a month and will be visiting Croatia and Holland. We hope to come back with a large collections of new textures and will be releasing them throughout the rest of the summer and beginning of autumn. The textures are spread through almost all the categories with the largest addition in metal, nature, paper and plastic textures and can be found by following the links below.

Concrete grunge textures

Its grunge texture time again. This time we went with concrete base and added effects and mixed in multiple other textures. The images are mostly in black and white tones and are full of scratches which makes them perfect to give a grunge feeling to your designs. They are great for use in photo overlays, various backgrounds, styles, custom fills and web design. The pack contains 6 textures in high resolution (3888×2592, 300dpi).

43 high resolution wood textures

Hello!

Today we passed a milestone of 2000 textures on our high resolution texture website Startextures.com. We added 43 new wood textures to the wood section of the page. The pack contains various very colorful wooden surfaces, worn and new wooden planks, and some nice tree wood texture.

Vintage light colored patterns

This time we prepared a treat for all the vintage fans out there. The textures are in soft colors and made from beautiful patterns. The collection contains 8 textures that are great for backgrounds in your My space, Twitter or blog pages. Tileable bokeh pattern set

Hello!

Today we prepared a tileable bokeh texture in 5 variations. All of them are digitally altered to produce a beautiful out of focus effect. The jpg files are 530×530 (300 dpi) in size and are available for download below. You can download the Photoshop .pat file here.

Enjoy this lovely collection and for all of you who don’t know how to install a .pat file read the instructions below.

How to install a pat. file

A pattern is usually an image that can be tiled seamlessly to create a pattern.
Once you’ve downloaded a pattern, you will have to unzip it first.

Than you have a .patfile that has to be installed in Photoshop in order to use it on your artwork.

Copy the .pat files into:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Presets\Patterns

To load a pattern set, first open Photoshop, go to the Patterns palette then click the small arrow in the top right corner and choose “Load Patterns”. Find the .pat file you have just copied to the Patterns folder in step 1, and hit ‘open’. Select ‘Add’ and voila. Next time you open Photoshop, the new patterns will be in the pattern library already…

200+ free high resolution textures

Today we are adding the remaining 200 textures from our Slovenian seaside trip to Startextures.com library. There are lots of various categories covered in this pack. There are some nice worn metal and rust surfaces from old fishing boats, mud textures and nature sourroundings from salt farm, a large addition to paper section including some intensive color paper surfaces, lots of stone and rock textures from the Adriatic sea and much more.
