63 free high resolution abstract textures Vol. 1

This month we prepared 63 free abstract textures, which are mostly composed from blurred photographs with added various effects and multiple layers.A lot of them are also based on patterns with added color gradients. When i was making these textures i wasn’t concerned with what will came out in the end. I just took a bad photograph and toyed with it in Photoshop. There will be three more packs of textures with similar concept in following months. You can download them here for free, but read up on our rules to make sure how you can use them.

5 Tileable background patterns

This time we are publishing a set of 5 colorful patterns that are mostly in bright and dark pink color.All patterns are 530×530px in size and can be put to good use for example Twitter backgrounds. They can also come in handy for various printing projects or website designs. You can change the color as you wish, just open the . jpeg file in Photoshop, ad the desired color, ad the preferred mode and save it as a pattern (Edit-Define Pattern). You can download the premade patterns below or get the Photoshop .pat file here.

How to install a pat. file

A pattern is usually an image that can be tiled seamlessly to create a pattern.Once you’ve downloaded a pattern, you will have to unzip it first. Than you have a .pat file that has to be installed in Photoshop in order to use it on your artwork.

First copy the .pat files into:

Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Presets\Patterns

To load a pattern set, first open Photoshop, go to the Patterns palette then click the small arrow in the top right corner and choose “Load Patterns”. Find the .pat file you have just copied to the Patterns folder in step 1, hit ‘open’ and select ‘Add’. Next time you open Photoshop, the new patterns will be in the pattern library already.

4 Colored grungy seamless patterns

Today we prepared another set of colored grunge patterns in 4 variations. You can find similar tileable patterns from our previous posts here. The textures are 530x530px in size and are available seperatly below, or you can download the Photoshop .pat file here.

6 Festive yellow blue pink tileable patterns

Because the spring is just around the corner, and to warm up us a bit i prepared a pack of 6 rainbow colored tileable patterns in yellow, blue and pink color.The textures are made from horizontal stripes and squares that blend from one color to the other. As usual you can modify them yourself by adding textures and colors, just be careful that the patterns remain tileable. The textures are 530x530px in size and can be snatched separately below, or you can download the Photoshop .pat file here.

5 Subtle gray patterns

Today’s post is meant for those of you who prefer softer colors and subtle tileable patterns, that are especially nice for softer backgrounds, such as blogs, twitter backgrounds or web backgrounds.We prepared a set of 5 seamless textures in subtle gray tones to complete our previous posts Subtile background patterns and Subtile green patternset. The patterns are 700x700px in size and can be snatched separately below or you can download the entire Photoshop .pat file here.

Beige seamless patterns

Today we made a pack of very simple beige patterns that you can easily change color and direction.The seamless textures are more or less put together from simple geometrical shapes that repeat in different directions. To make them more interesting we added a simple grunge effect. There are 6 patterns in the set and they are 530x530px in size and can be used for base for different backgrounds for web and print projects. 8 seamless hazard danger textures

Like we promised in our previous post, we prepared a pack of 8 seamless hazard danger textures with common black and yellow stripes and weathered surface. I’m sure these can be used to great extent in designs that need a more industrial grunge look. These textures are a bit larger then usual (1000x1000px), mostly because they can also be used for print projects where a higher resolution is needed. Subtle background patterns

Today’s post was made spontaneously from some patterns i needed for a project i was working on, and they needed to be more subtle so they could be used for light backgrounds for web pages and blogs.

All 9 seamless patterns are in pale colors, which is great if you want your fonts or other graphic elements to stand out from your projects background. Ofcourse you can do anything you like with these in Photoshop, like change color, intensity and structure of patterns. The textures below are 500x500px in size and can be snatched separately.
